Loxone is now officially supported by DoorBird, and any DoorBird video intercom fully integrates with Loxone:
On pressing the bell button, the Loxone Door Controller is triggered via a Virtual Input. Depending on your Loxone configuration, this will ring a local doorbell and push notifications to smartphones and tablets.
On opening the Door Controller in the Loxone app (directly or by pressing the push notification), an MJPEG video connection is established.
Pressing 'Establish Audio Connection' makes a SIP VoIP call from the Loxone app to the DoorBird and allows 2-way speech.
Additionally, DoorBird can trigger Loxone on motion, and Loxone can activate the DoorBird's (door)relais contact and IR lights.

Loxone Intercom vs DoorBird
The Loxone Intercom has hands down the best audio quality. If it's important that you can clearly communicate with people at the door, then go for the Loxone Intercom.
DoorBird can offer a solution if you need any of the following features which are not provided by the Loxone Intercom, e.g.:
A wider lens to see people standing in front of the door when the intercom is installed on the wall next to the door.
IR lights to see in total darkness
Having the intercom call a telephone number (e.g. directly to a SIP phone, or via a PBX to a hunt group or analog line or GSM)
The Audio qualtiy and volume of the Loxone Intercom, for both speaker and microphone, are much better than any other video intercoms we tested, including Mobotix and DoorBird. The volume of the DoorBird is lower and voice latency is higher.
The DoorBird features
a 180° wide-angle hemispheric lens, which is often required to make sure the visitor can be seen when st anding in front of the door rather than in front of the camera
IR LEDs for real night-vision. The Loxone Intercom does not have IR LEDs, but this might not be needed if outside lights are switched on.

The thick aluminum front of the Loxone Intercom is better looking than the plastic casing of the DoorBird or Mobotix T25. The stainless brushed steal front of the flush mounted DoorBird D202 brings a similar high quality impression.
The DoorBird has some extra features that can be useful:
a PIR motion detector that can trigger a Loxone Virtual Intput via the ip connection
a separate app that can come in handy e.g. when the SIP connection from the Loxone app is not working
Sip audio settings
Due to security measures of DoorBird, there is a limitation:
Registration to an external SIP server, e.g. iptel.org
You can have the DoorBird register to an extermal SIP server like iptel.org (see the Loxone Intercom documentation for setting up an account). This allows for a SIP audio connection from an external network, without complex configuration of your router.
In the DoorBird App, you have to set the following:
SIP Activated: On
SIP Proxy: iptel.org
SIP User: iptelUserAccount
SIP Password: iptelPassword
Allow incoming calls: On
Allowed SIP Users: Add smarthome
In Loxone Config, you have to set the following in the Door Controller:
Host for Audio (local): iptel.org
Host for Audio (external): iptel.org
Audio username (internal): iptelUserAccount
Audio username (external): iptelUserAccount
Video configuration for external access
Similar to the Loxone Intercom you have to enter the public ip address (or DNS name) and port number to allow access from an external network, e.g.:
URL video stream (external): http://clouddns:8090/bha-api/video.cgi
In this example, you also have to set port-forwarding in you router from publicIpAddress:8090 to ipaddressOfDoorbird:80
